LabStart is a 501c3 nonprofit that exists to help build a world where groundbreaking climate solutions aren't stuck dormant in research labs, but instead are cultivated by creative entrepreneurs ready to bring them to life.

In 2025, we achieved a milestone of supporting 24 of these creative entrepreneurs, more than doubling our cohort size from 2024. These visionary founders made up our Discover cohort, as we partitioned our fellowship into two phases:

• The Discover Phase was a four-month-long, part-time program where fellows validated the market problems they’re looking to solve and identified IP to solve them. Fellows received a $1500/month stipend throughout this phase.
• The Launch Phase is a full-time, 12-month-long program where the fellows receive a $100K investment as they launch their startups and get expert mentorship, fractional executive support, curriculum sessions, and access to industry and fundraising networks.

Our 2025 Discover fellows are developing advanced energy technologies and next-generation materials, pioneering emission reductions, improving infrastructure, and so much more. We’re excited to share more about them in our report, along with everything we accomplished with the support of our community in 2025!
